Elena Lasconi - favorite of BURSA Newspaper readers

Elena Lasconi, the current mayor of the Argeş city of Câmpulung, candidate from the Save Romania Union will be the future president of Romania, according to the choice of the readers of the BURSA newspaper expressed in the online survey conducted between December 3-5 on the website www.bursa.ro.

73% of the respondents voted for Elena Lasconi, while only 27% expressed their support for her opponent in the second round of the presidential elections on Sunday, December 8, Călin Georgescu. We point out that in that survey, one could vote only once from a single IP, and the number of respondents is far above the one required for any type of social survey.

We note that 70% of the readership of the BURSA newspaper is made up of entrepreneurs, people with post-university or at least university education, people whose income is at least at the level of the average income in the economy, which allows them to lead a decent life, defenders of democratic, pro-European values, freedom of movement and freedom of expression. This is in contrast to Călin Georgescu's camp where over 60% of voters have at most secondary education, more likely secondary school or vocational school at most, with low incomes that barely ensure their survival or daily living.

We show that the respective percentage obtained by Elena Lasconi from the readers of the BURSA newspaper was not caused by the declassification by President Klaus Iohannis of the information received during the CSAT meeting on November 28 from SRI, STS, SIE and the Ministry of Interior regarding the amounts illegally paid for the online campaign on TikTok of candidate Călin Georgescu. On the day of the declassification of the documents, at noon the poll on the BURSA newspaper website showed the same percentages as those recorded yesterday at the completion of our research, while the documents in question were published by the Presidential Administration only after 6 p.m.

Over 18.7 million Romanian citizens with the right to vote in the country and abroad are expected to go to the polls on Sunday, December 8, to express their option in the second round of the presidential elections, in which Elena Lasconi - the USR candidate - and Călin Georgescu - an independent candidate, face off.

In the second round, following the declassification of information received on November 28 by the CSAT regarding the conduct of the electoral campaign in the first round by candidate Călin Georgescu, the pro-European political forces PSD, PNL, USR, UDMR and the group of national minorities concluded an agreement regarding the future government and parliamentary majority aimed at preserving the Euro-Atlantic direction of our country, and following this agreement, the leaders of the respective parties stated that the only valid option in Sunday's elections is Elena Lasconi. Moreover, the majority of the business community in our country is also in support of Elena Lasconi, because entrepreneurs believe that the only chance for the country's development is to remain in the European Union and NATO.

Under these conditions, Călin Georgescu is supported only by sovereignist, nationalist political forces, namely AUR, SOS Romania and the Young People's Party.

We note that Romanian citizens abroad will be able to exercise their right to vote from today (December 6) until Sunday (December 8) in the 950 polling stations set up in several countries around the world. On Sunday in the country, the over 18,000 polling stations will open at 7:00 and close at 21:00, with the possibility of extending voting until midnight in stations where citizens are indoors or in the yard, in line, at 21:00.
